MetaKiller

MetaKiller is an additional functionality integrated into Dashboard. MetaKiller can remove photo metadata in one click.

Removing metadata from images can help protect personal information because this data can contain many details about who took the photo, where and when it was taken, and how it was modified after it was taken. Here are a few reasons why deleting image metadata can help with anonymity and security:

  1. Photo shooting location can be determined from metadata. If you are taking photos on the streets of your city, the location can be used to determine where you are at that moment.

  2. Metadata can also contain information about the camera model used to capture the photo. This can help determine who took the photo. Some cameras may also store information about the device used to take pictures, which can be useful for determining the operating system and other computer properties.

  3. For photos linked to your social media profile, messenger profile, or work-related, the metadata may contain information that you do not want to reveal to others.

  4. Removing image metadata can prevent unauthorized access to your personal data.
